Another great comedy club that is less than 15 minutes’ walk from the hotel and situated within the Deansgate Locks area – a very lively area of nightclubs, restaurants and bars. Also a short walk away is the brand new First St development that hosts HOME and lots of others cafes, restaurants and cinemas

Chetham Library, John Dalton and The Central Library

Manchester is home to some of the most beautiful and significant libraries in Europe. The oldest continuously working library in the English speaking world, Chetham Library is impressive and stunning whilst the newly refurbished Central Library has launched itself into 21st century with a media lounge and fantastic music section.

Halle Orchestra

One of the oldest orchestras in the UK and situated in the stunning St Peters Church in Ancoats, the orchestra supports a choir and youth choir and also holds shows at The Bridgewater Hall – visit for information on tickets and prices

Manchester Pride

Every August Canal Street in the Gay Village comes alive with music, markets and exhibitions for an entire weekend.

King Street, The Arndale Centre, Selfridges and Spinningfields

These are all designer shopping destinations spread across Manchester and have everything from Apple to M&S to House of Fraser

The Trafford Centre – situated a little further out of the city but only a 30 minute taxi journey or bus ride from the hotel, The Trafford Centre is a covered shopping heaven with fantastic food and entertainment also

Manchester City FC – play all of their home games at The Etihad Stadium and is only a short 10 minute taxi ride or tram ride away from the hotel. It is also a great venue for live music and has held concerts by Robbie Williams, The Stone Roses and Coldplay in recent years

Manchester United FC – One of the most football stadiums in the world, Old Trafford is the home of Manchester United FC and also plays host to Rugby League, Rugby Union and NFL games from time to time
